Show Anyway It Was Different Said The Old Hen Every once in a while some old hen in a farmer's barnyard does herself proud by laying an especially large egg. . . . Then occasionally occa-sionally one comes through with an egg that hatches a chick that is somewhat freakish in its general appearance ap-pearance all of which is just a part of a hen's life. The other day Mrs. John Christensen brought the end results of one of her old biddies, bid-dies, who, when she conceived con-ceived the egg she was about to lay, must have been dreaming of the Ugly Duckling that became a beautiful swan. . . . Her contribution for that day. was a small egg, approximately approxi-mately 2 inches long with a circumfrence of about IV2 inches, with a curved neck and head that has the exact appearance of a swan gracefully swimming about the pond. If you are curious, said egg can be seen at the Standard office. |
