Show Bridal Shower it Fetes Mrs. Monks 3 A bridal shower honoring ' Mrs. Calvin Monks, nee Virginia Thomas, was one of the social events of the season. A host of friends gathered Saturday afternoon af-ternoon at the Myton L D S Ward Chapel to greet the bride and present lovely and useful gifts. Mrs. Ted Monks, Mrs. Wal- '"lace Dennis, Mrs. Max Jenson and Mrs. Frank Liddell were hostesses to about fifty guests, who enjoyed an afternoon of games, followed by a tempting lunch. A long table, centered by a beautiful bridal cake, was flanked by tables heaped with shower presents, which were opened by the new Mrs. Monks as she displayed the lovely 'lifts. Musical selections during the afternoon included piano selections selec-tions by Mrs. O. A. Dart, and vocal selections by Mrs. Mary Ellen Gardner, of Roosevelt, and Miss Sherry Dennis, accompanied ac-companied by Carolyn Dennis. Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish spent Sunday in Duchesne visiting vis-iting with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hart, Mrs. Dalgleish's parents. Francis Fowler was sufficient- ly recovered from injuries suf- fered in a fall at Provo to. be ' returned home Sunday. ' He sustained a fractured skull, Dec. J 7, when he slipped on an icy pavement, and has been hospitalized hos-pitalized at Provo since that time. He will convalesce at the' home of his father, Earl Fowler. Mrs. H. D. Roberts, president tf the Myton Parent-Teacher Association, reports that the next P T A meeting will be held t at the Myton Elementary School auditorium, Wednesday, Feb. 6, a at 8 p. m. The theme of the f meeting will be Founders Day. The infant daughter of Mr and Mrs. Frank Liddell is reported re-ported ill with whooping cough. |
