Show Senator Ashton Speaks To Culture Club Group Some very interesting phases of "legislative procedure" were presented Monday night for Junior Culture Club members by Senator C. L. Ashton, who explained to the group how things are done in the Senate, and why a lot aren't done. He invited Roosevelt citizens to attend at-tend the Senate sessions and observe the procedure. , The meeting was held at th'j home of Mrs. Arus Bird, with Mrs. Ned Bellon as co-hostess. Several business matters were: discussed, with Mrs. Lewis Taylor, Tay-lor, president, taking charge. Mrs. Bennie Schmiett' was named chairman for the U B I C fashion show, which will be directed di-rected by the Junior Culture Club. Selected as co-chairman was Mrs. Parley Rawlings. A white elephant sale was held to assist in promoting the club's polio mother, Mrs. Harold Timothy. Mrs. Robt. Montgomery, chairman chair-man of the next meeting, which will be a party, discussed the social event, which is scheduled for Feb. 11. It was decided to have a sleigh-riding party and invite the husbands. At the conclusion of the evening, eve-ning, a delicious luncheon was served by the hostesses. |
