Show Tabiona To Test Union Strength In Friday's Game A snappy gang of kids from Utah's smallest high school will be the next Uintah Basin team to test the strength of Coach Glen Allred's Cougars from Union High, who last Friday won a thrilling 1-point game from Uintah's Utes at Vernal. It will be Tabiona vs Union High, Friday night at 6:45 and 8 p. m., at Union High School. When the Tabiona team met Duchesne last Friday and lost a close contest to the Eagles, Coach Barton was playing' without with-out the services of his ace guard, Robert Michie, who was a victim of flu. Several other members of his team also were suffering from the plague last week. Whether Michie will be ready for action Friday night is not sure he was in uniform Tuesday, but plenty weak. Leading the Tabby lads into the battle will be Basil Defa, who has been one of the leading scorers during the season. He is ably fortified by Dale Allred and Michie, who have both proven they can hit from in and outside. Who Coach Allred will start is a question, but Kenny Nickell, Gwen Bodily and John Benson are about a cinch to be among the starters. After the brilliant shooting demonstration Byrre'l Lamb put on last week, it's highly high-ly probable that he, also, will be among the starters. While Tabby is being entertained enter-tained by Union, Altamont will be playing the Eagles at Duchesne. Du-chesne. Both games will be pre-ceeded pre-ceeded at 6:45 with a preliminary prelimin-ary contest between "B" squads. |
