Show . School Doings ROOSEVELT ELEMENTARY At our school, each sixth grade gets to go on a field trip. One sixth grade took their trip in the fall. Mrs. Fredrickson's sixth grade took our trip a little while ago. We took a lunch, got on the bus and started off. We went to Vernal, and then on to Jensen. Between Vernal and Jensen was a service station. sta-tion. Along side of it was a huge dinosaur. It was around 14 feet high and very long. It had eyes that were made of green light bulbs and it made a loud awful noise. It was made of plaster or something, but it looked real. We went on to an oil refinery. refin-ery. We had seen two oil wells Dff in the distance. There were a few large fires in furnaces and there were many tanks. A man showed us some samples of ail. It isn't black, but greenish brown. We ate lunch on a nearby Mil. On the way bask we stopped at the Vernal museum. There we jaw fossils, mummies, scenery Dictures and many other interring inter-ring things. We were very ucky because there was a man ;o show us around that knew ill about the things in the museum. mu-seum. By Carolynn Cook Mrs. Chug'g's second grade vent for an Easter walk, April 1, to the farm of Mrs. Bruce Smith, their Room Mother. Af-;er Af-;er eating the lunch prepared av the school lunch ladies, they jnjoyed a treasure hunt, drank punch prepared by Mrs. Smith, and then returned to school, tired but happy. The fourth, fifth, and sixth grades presented a spring festival, festi-val, April 13, entitled, "Vacation "Vaca-tion Time is Here." A large crowd was present. Many students acted the parts of children of foreign countries. Scandinavian, Spanish, Irish, Scotch, Hawaiian, Mexican, Chinese, Chi-nese, and Dutch dances were presented, and there were a boy and girl from New York, St. Louis, and Texas. The rest of the rooms composed the chorus. chor-us. Mrs. Mitchell's first grade will present a three - act operetta, f'T h e Season of Happiness," Tuesday, April 25, at 7;30 p. m., gym. A matinee tvil be held Monday afternoon at 1, |
