Show Lit. Emmons Deane Case Quarterly conference of the Moon Lake Stake was held Sunday Sun-day in the Mt. Emmons ward chapel. Conference sessions were conducted by Wm. N. Brother-son, Brother-son, stake president, and his counselors, Leon M. Burton and Bernard Winkler. Principal speaker at the three sessions was Elder Joseph F. Merrill, of the Council of the Twelve Apostles. Music was furnished by the Seminary students stu-dents and the stake choir, directed direct-ed by Mrs. Thelma Cook, of Bluebell. The L.D.S. Girl's organization or-ganization served lunch at noon. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hislop and sons spent the Easter weekend week-end at the R.E.A. power plant, while Mr. and Mrs. Dan Allen were in Salt Lake. With the His-lops His-lops were Mr. and Mrs. Vic Fos-sat Fos-sat and three children, of Helper. Hel-per. Twe local men have filed for county offices. Linden Hansen is seeking the nomination for 4-year county commissioner, and E. W. Crosby has filed for county coun-ty assessor. Both are Democrats. Garth Peterson and Austin Belnap, ef Salt Lake City, visited vis-ited here several days last week with Garth's uncle - and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Case and son, Scott, of Salt Lake City, were weekend guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Case and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie J. Orr. Arthur is district manager of Montgomery Ward's automo tive department. Most of the children of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Thacker were home for a family reunion over the weekend. Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stevenson entertained at a family dinner. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Thacker, Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Thacker, and Mr. and Mrs. Orson Or-son Monson, Mt. Emmons; Mr. and Mrs. James Thacker, Hollo-day; Hollo-day; Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Merkley and Fred Thacker, Salt Lake; Miss Alvornia Thompson, Og-den; Og-den; Mr. and Mrs- Thomas Richards, Rich-ards, Mtn. Home; and the children chil-dren of the various families. "Deep Purple" was the theme carried out Friday night at the annual Altamont Junior Prom. Thirty-eight Juniors participated participat-ed in the traditional promenade. Class officers in charge of the affair were Wane Workman, president; Barbara Smith, vice-president; vice-president; and Kathleen Pearson, Pear-son, secretary. Patrons were Principal and Mrs. Robert Paulsen, Paul-sen, Mr. and Mrs. Glendon Guy-man, Guy-man, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie N. Pearson, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Farnsworth, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Workman, and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Bird. |
