Show New Method Hits Alfalfa Weevil By LOUIS A. JENSEN County Agricultural Agent Farmers who experienced serious ser-ious damage from the alfalfa weevil last year will do well to take measures to prevent this from being repeated again this season. Many farmers are using a new method of control which is now being recommended after af-ter considerable experimental work. The new treatment consists con-sists of applying IV2 pounds of actual Chlordane per acre, as a water-emulsion spray, when the first-crop shoots are about one inch long. Most of the alfalfa al-falfa in this area is about at this stage now. There are a number of custom sprayers available for this work. For further information on recommendations rec-ommendations or available sprayers, please contact the County Agent. The mart who earns what he gets will be under obligation to no man. |
