Show BASIN BRIEFS Mrs. Edwin Richman and baby left Tuesday for a two-week two-week visit in Woods Cross with her grandmother, Mrs. Kate Snyder, and with her brother Benny Gleaton. Barbara Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. S. Nelson, spent the weekend in Myton as a guest of Alice Patry. Virgie Murphy's dramatics class from Roosevelt high school went to Salt Lake City Thursday Thurs-day to see the U. of U. production, produc-tion, "The Taming of the Shrew." Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Norman and son, Russell, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Daniels, and Mrs. J. C. Brewer, all of Vernal, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Norman. Mrs. Ray S. Jordan and Mrs. Bennie Schmiett left Wednesday to attend the Home Coming1 and Founder's Day celebration at Wasatch Academy. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Richman and daughter, of Provo, spent the weekend with Mr. Rich-man's Rich-man's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer El-mer Richman, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs.- Stephen W. Johnson, of San Francisco, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. Billings, of Tacoma, Washington, stopped Wednesday for a brief visit with Fred Ferron as they were en-route en-route from a 2-month trip to Mexico. Mr. Johnson, editor of the Uintah Basin Record at Duchesne, Du-chesne, just prior to the Schon-ian's Schon-ian's acquisition of the paper, is now owner of the Johnson Mat and Electrotype Co., San Francisco. Mr. Billings, ran the Duchesne Du-chesne Lumber Company during dur-ing his residence in Duchesne, and is a charter member of Basin Bas-in Lodge No. 20 F. and A. M. For the past thirty years he has been in the lumber business in and around Tacoma, retiring two years ago. The Roosevelt h i g1 h school freshmen were guests of honor at a party given Wednesday evening, eve-ning, April 19, at the Roosevelt high school gym, hosted by members of the sophomore class. Under the supervision of Kenneth Zirker, class adviser, progressive games and dancing, to the music of the RHS orchestra, orches-tra, wag enjoyed by the group. In charge o f arrangements were Ellen Gilbert, Gayle Gilbert, Gil-bert, D e 1 o r i s Hutcheon, and I Joyce Burr. Mrs. Murel Benson returned Monday from a two-week's visit in Phoenix, Arizona, with her mother, Mrs. Isabelle Forsythe, and her sisters, Mrs. Ted Miles and Mrs. Nelda Low. Mr. and Mrs. LaVere Labrum were in Salt Lake this week. Mr. and Mrs. Heber T. Hall visited in Salt Lake City during dur-ing the week. Boyd Mullins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Mulling, has gone to Salt Lake City to seek employment. |
