Show April 39 Deadline For PhIA Ensealing Program On Grains Farmers have until April 30 to notify the County PMA committee com-mittee that they want to take part in the resealing program for 1949 small grains, according accord-ing to Douglas H. B e r t o e h, chairman. This date applies to wheat, oats, rye, and barley now covered cov-ered by farm-storage loans or purchase agreements. All grains must be resealed by June 30. Grains under purchase pur-chase agreements may be sealed under loans by the same closing clos-ing dates. The. maturity date for loans under the resealing program is April 30, 1951. Mr. Bertoch explained that upon extension of a loan, or upon the granting of a loan on wheat which was under purchase pur-chase agreement, a storage payment pay-ment of 7 cents per pushel will be made to the producer for the period during which the wheat was under loan or purchase pur-chase agreement. If the crop is not eventually delivered to the Commodity Credit Corporation, the storage payments must be repaid to the government. In the case of oats, barley and rye, no storage payments will be made for the time before be-fore resealing. During the resealing re-sealing period, storage payments pay-ments for all commodities delivered de-livered to CCC upon maturity of the loans will be as follows: Wheat and rye, 10 to IIV2 cents per bushel, depending upon the area; oats, 8 cents per bushel; barley, 10 cents per bushel. The program seeks to slow down the movement of grains off farms in excess of marketing market-ing requirements, thus stabilizing stabil-izing marketing and prices. Only On-ly 1949 crop grains in' eligible farm storage are eligible for the resealing program. As of February 28. fa.rm-storage fa.rm-storage loans and purchase agreements under the 1949 price support program covered about 122 million bushels of wheat, 20 million bushels of barley. 36 milion bushes of oats, and 900,000 bushes of rye. t .- - |
