Show Sustain Our national President, Uphold The Constitution of U. S.; Church Members Told At Conference The "No, Visitor" conference Of the Roosevelt stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints held last Saturday evening eve-ning ancl Sunday, proved to be outstanding from the standpoint of attendance and interesting programs. Nine recently returned re-turned missionaries from various var-ious parts of the world, added testimonies as the feature of the conference which was not attended at-tended by a general authority. Stake President Hollis G. Hul-linger Hul-linger and" his two counselors, Russel Todd and Clifford Drol-linger, Drol-linger, presided and conducted the various meetings and also addressed the sessions. In key-noting key-noting the conference on Sunday, Sun-day, Pres. Hullinger admonished those present to uphold and sustain sus-tain the president of the United States and others in office who have pledged to administer the elements of the Constiution of the greatest nation God ever inspired. He also paid tribute to the first president of the United States, George Washington, Washing-ton, whose birthday was being observed that day. Pres. Hullinger reported that all stake auxiliaries, priesthood quorums and stake mission were fully organized and functioning. He also reported that two wards, Neola and Leota, had been recently re-cently reorganized with new bishoprics, and that welfare assignments as-signments to the region and general committee had been filled, and the stake's payment on the regional farm had been paid. The stake leader urged every Later-Day Saint family to have a supply of food and other necessities sufficient to sustain them for a year, which is considered among the most important of church doctrines. Missionaries who reported during the Sunday sessions and the wards they represented were: Robert Hatch, Myton; Jack Nixon, Roosevelt Second; Earl McKenna, Roosevelt; Arlin Cook, Ballard; Patricia Wills, Roosevelt Second; Garth Gardner, Gard-ner, Roosevelt Second; Howard Galloway, Roosevelt Second; Ray Nielson, Roosevelt Second, and Barth Stone, Ioka. Other speakers in addition to the missionaries mis-sionaries and stake presidency were: James E. Bacon, Indian mission president; Carl Holley, scout field executive; Lamont Nielson and Louis Jensen, stake high councilmen; Neola's retiring retir-ing and new bishops, Lazell Henrie and Richard Olsen, respective, res-pective, and Bishop Austin War-die War-die and Bishop Ralph Durfee, oud and new bishops at Leota. The Sunday morning session was one of the best attended conference meetings, in the history his-tory of the stake, when 1009 people Were present 757 came back in the afternoon. The next conference will be held in May. |
