Not only did John tip in 17 points? for high scoring honors, but he made his 6'3" felt on both bank boards with consistent sweeps that made things miserable for Coach Marcus Garrett's Utes. Lee, with 15 points, was high pointer point-er for the Utes. Again it was Udell Birch with 17 who led the Eagles in their offense. He was followed closely by Er Simpson with 16. The Cougars have only one more ball game to play, and if they were to lose it to Tabiona Friday night at Union High School, they would still have the title salted down and their second consecutive' trip to the big show in the bag. The tournament tour-nament this year is to be played at Provo in the BYU gymnasium gymnas-ium on March 11-14. There is nothing that could stop Uintah from a play-off with the second place winner over in Carbon-Emery league on Saturday, Sat-urday, Mar. 7 at Price. The Utes have one more game to play with Altamont a postponed game from Feb. 4. But even though they lose it, they're still the second place winner. The winner of the game at Price plays a second place team in Region 4 for a place in the Provo meet. Thus there is a good chance that the Basin might have its one-two teams playing in the big show. . Altamont travels to Duchesne ! this week for the final game of the season for the Eagles. And Uintah is idle, while Tabby travels to Roosevelt. All games start at 6:45 and 8 pjn.
