Show ALTAMONT By Lorraine Dastrup Wind Blows Off School Roof A severe wind storm came up early Sunday morning and blew part of the roof off the new school building at Altamont. Alta-mont. No other serious damage was reported. Mrs. Gene Baxter and family fam-ily and Mrs. George Berrett and family were Roosevelt visitors, Monday. Could it be that Altamont and Mt. Emmons winning four ball games in a row, had anything any-thing to do with this big local wind storm? Well. . . it was something to blow about. Capier Bristol, principal at Altamont, has recently purchased purchas-ed a beautiful new Ford automobile. auto-mobile. SYMPATHY EXPRESSED The towns of Altamont and Mt. Emmons wish to express sincere sympathy to the Carl Lister family in the loss of their wife and mother, Mrs. Irene Fullmer Lister, who died Saturday, Feb. 14, in the Roosevelt Roose-velt hospital following a lingering linger-ing illness. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. in Mt. Emmons ward chapel under the direction of Bishop Willard B. Mecham. Burial was in the Mt. Emmons Em-mons cemetery. Pete Wall and children went to Salt Lake Monday to get Mrs. Wall, who, has been staying at the home of James Thacker, while Mrs. Thacker was at the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stevenson Steven-son spent Tuesday and Wednesday Wednes-day in Salt Lake City. Floyd Case has just recently purchased a coffee-colored Ford. The program presented at church Sunday evening consisted consist-ed of the following: Talk, by Hazel Goodrich; song, "Oh Thou Kind and Gracious Father," by the choir; and a talk, by U. B. Winkler. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Corbin, of Duchesne, spent Sunday afternoon af-ternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Farnsworth. Miss Berneice Boswell, who is employed in Salt Lake, was home visiting over the weekend. week-end. Neal Dastrup, who is attending attend-ing Snow College, came home for the weekend. He was accompanied ac-companied by Miss Bonnie Ped-erson, Ped-erson, of Manti, Utah. Miss Ped-erson Ped-erson is a niece of Mrs. La-Farge La-Farge Dastrup. Mrs. LaVeda T. Bond, of Heber, spent a few davs in Altamont. Al-tamont. Her son, Neil Titcomb, returned with her to Heber for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, of Rangely, Colo., are visiting with Mrs. Smith's grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Reynolds. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Baxter were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glade Timothy, of Altonah Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Less Orr was at the Roosevelt hospital, Monday, visiting vis-iting Mr. Orr's mother. She has been ill the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hart-man Hart-man have gone to Provo, where Mr. Hartman is receiving medical medi-cal treatment. O. J. Thacker, who is employed em-ployed in Wyoming, came home last Saturday to take his family back with him. Louis Reese, manager of the R E.A. made a business trip to Washington last week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thacker, of Ogden, were home during-the during-the weekend. While here they took Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thacker to Price and back. VARIETY CLUB MEETS The Variety Club met Monday Mon-day night at the home of Mrs. Wesley Thacker. The evening was spent in sewing and refreshments re-freshments were served.
