Show Former Resident Dies Of Cancer The sad news was received in Altonah during the week of the death of Mrs. Nedra Stevens Hol-feltz, Hol-feltz, 35, of Castle Fort," Idaho, Nov. 20, in an Elko, Nevada hospital, hos-pital, of cancer. Nedra is the daughter of Hugh A. and Edna McAlpin Stevens and in her early girlhood was a resident of Altonah. Al-tonah. She married George Holfeltz and made their home near Duchesne Du-chesne for several years. Survivors .are her husband and 3 boys and one girl, Steven, Larry, George and Valeen, a!.l of Castle Fort. Idaho; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Stevens, of Lindon, 'Utah; 4 sisters and 2 brothers, Mrs. Sam (Luzon) Crosby, Orem; Mrs. Eugene (Thelma) Bock and George (Bud) Stevens, Jarbridge, Nev.;, Mrs. Wanda Stevens, Elko Nevada; Mrs. Shirley (Lois) Taylor, Tay-lor, of Salt Lake City; and Robert (Bob) Stevens. Funeral services were held Friday, Fri-day, Nov. 25, at 1 p .m. at the 29th ward LDS chapel. The many friends of the' Stevens, family wish to express their deepest sympathy at this time. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith left Nov. 19th 'for Salt Lake City, where they will make their home for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Tuff Reay and daughters, RaJeana and Kathryn, of Ioka, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Reay and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jessen. David and Paul Hislop are staying stay-ing at the home' of Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell during the winter and attending the Altamont High School. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hislop, are taking care of the REA hydro plant on the Yellowstone. Wm. R. Evans, Moon Lake stake Sunday School superintendent, was a Sunday School visitor Nov. 22. Guests at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs Albert Clark during the week were Mr. and Mrs Bill Clark of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Turnbow and family of Keetley, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Thompson and family of Heber. The men enjoyed a pheasant pheas-ant hunt. Mrs. Mary Carroll and son, Gene accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bearden and sons to Salt Lake, Nov. 18. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Dump and family, of Meeteetse, Wyo., spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dump. Those ' from Altonah attending Union meeting at Mt. Emmons on Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Maxfield, Mrs. Mary Riley and Mary Ann, Mr. and Mrs. Clenty. Bee-be. : Gilbert Beebe attended a Duchesne' Du-chesne' Cattle Association meeting in Roosevelt, Monday. Mrs. EJdora Peterson took her baby daughter to Roosevelt for medical' aid Sunday. LEGION HELD DANCE The American Legion gave a dance in the Legion Hall Nov. 19, with the Burdick orchestra furnishing furnish-ing the music. They also sponsored a Thanksgiving night dance. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Johanson, of Hagerman, Idaho, visited their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Ames, and other relatives rela-tives in this area during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Marian Berrett and family, of Bluebell, were Thanksgiving Thanks-giving guests at the home of Mrs. Berrett's mother, Mrs. Vendetta Clark. Mr. and Mrs. George' Berrett and family, of Roosevelt, were Thanksgiving guests of Mr. ' and Mrs. Fenton Powell. Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Ames spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Mons Johanson in Boneta. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Bowden and family and Louie Bowden were Thanksgiving guests ' of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bowden in Bonanza. Mr. and Mrs. Reay Jessen and family spent Thanksgiving with relatives in Price. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Jacobson and family spent Thanksgiving day with Mr. and Mrs. Jennis Oman in Salt Lake City. Lee Jessen has purchased a new 1956 Chevrolet car. Thanksgiving guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse A. Fowler and family were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fowler and family and Rex Fowler of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Christensen and family of Boneta, and Howard Fowler. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Potts and family, of Duchesne, were Wednesday Wed-nesday night guests of Mrs. Potts' mother, Mrs. El.va Snyder. Their daughter, Diana, stayed to visit her grandmother until Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Carnes LaRose celebrated their wedding anniversary anniver-sary and Mr. LaRose's birthday at a dinner Thursday, Thanksgiving day at their home. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth LaRose and family, of Altamont, Mr. and Mrs. Norman LaRose and family of Altonah, Al-tonah, Patty and Rickie' Taylor of Whiterocks Einer Christensen and family and Tommy LaRose. Mr. and Mrs. Carnes LaRose, Mr. and Mrs. Norman LaRose, accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth LaRose of Altamont, attended the funeral of Mrs. Myrtle La-Rose La-Rose in the LDS chapel in White-rocks, White-rocks, Saturday, Nov. 26. Mr. and Mrs. Carnes LaRose's two granddaughters, Patty and Rickie, returned to their home in Whiterocks, Saturday, after visiting visit-ing their grandparents for several days. A number of Altonah people attended at-tended the Harvest Ball at Altamont Alta-mont Friday night, Nov. 25.
