Show ! ROOSEVELT HIGH i Our basketball teams deserve a hearty cheer. They have proved we can lose gracefully. Now we intend to prove we can win well at the tie-off game Friday. We hope to get to state, no less! We'll need the support of the whole school and our townspeople next Friday. It is now time for Ag talks and the boys are busy. Each member of our Ag chapter must prepare a 5000-word talk on any fitting subject and give it in class. The best in each class will then compete for school-wide honors. Those winners will enter en-ter the Basin-wide, competition, and perhaps will go to the state contest. State winners will enter en-ter the regional meet, and a lucky few will enter national competition. The winner gets a $250 scholarship. The contest play for the meet at Price is "Evening Star." The cast includes Dorothy Dean Nixon Nix-on as Lotta Mitchell, an old-time old-time actress: Joyce Burr, as Ann Alexander, a present-day star; Eldon Winterton, as Christopher Chris-topher Bishop, an actor; Ronald Zirker, as Tyrone DeVonde, another an-other actor; Mary Murphy, as Thais Allen, an actress; Darlene Brown, as Viola Walker, another actress; John Lee Zimmerman,' as Erik DcMille, a director; Tom Rowley as Tim Murphy, a stage-door' keeper; Delo.ris Brown as Mamie, a scrub woman; wom-an; and Hazel Fridrickson, as Celeste, Ann's maid. Joyce Burr, reporter ROOSEVELT ELEMENTARY Tuesday, Feb. 20, Mrs. Buchanan's Bu-chanan's 4th grade went for a walk to the lunch room and saw how the cooks prepared our lunch. Mrs, Lloyd and four others were very busy preparing the lunch lor 350 children. When we came in we saw the fudge and 12 loaves of bread. Then we saw the milk. There were five gallons of milk for the gravy. When we went into the storeroom store-room we saw a big box of 70 pounds of butter, one with 70 pounds of cheese, and many other boxes of food. Then we went into the next room where we eat. The tables are very clean. Mrs. Lloyd told us that they .scrub the tables after each meal. We also saw how clean the garbage cans I were. j Mrs. Lloyd, Mr. Lisonbee, Mrs. Benson, Mrs. Jensen and Mrs. Poulos work very hard to cook our lunches. The food they were cooking was potatoes and gravy, ham, milk and chocolate fudge. The recipe they used for the chocolate fudge is: Vt cup cocoa, I 1 pkg. cream cheese, Vi lb. butter, but-ter, blend. Add: 1 lb. powdered j suger, 1 cup chopped nut meats, j 1 tbsp. vanilla. Mix thoroughly, put in wax paper. Keep in re- ! frigerator overnight. Slice and serve.
