Show First Gold-Green Ball At Utahn Held March 5th UTAHN Delia Brown reigned reign-ed as queen of the first Gold and Green Ball ever to be held in the Utahn branch of the Duchesne Du-chesne stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her attendants were Beulah Mayhew and Marva Dena Davies. Held Monday evening, March 5, at the Utahn chapel, this ball marked a gala commencement of M.I.A. activity in the ward, under the direction of John R. Davies and Freda Davies, the branch's recently sustained Mu-. Mu-. tual Improvement officers. Burthel Mayhew and Marva Dena Davies headed the decorations deco-rations committee. Colorful decorations dec-orations of green and white strips of crepe paper were draped drap-ed as a winter scene, in keeping keep-ing with the theme "Winter Wonderland." Cotton snowballs were suspended from these ceiling ceil-ing strips. The entire M.I.A. member ship of the ward participated in the spectacular floor show. As a finale to the floor show, the dancers grouped as a chorus and sang the theme song "Winter "Win-ter Wonderland." as the queen and her attendants advanced for the coronation. Orchestrations were by the Collett orchestra from Duchesne. Miss Brown, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Brown, will compete with other ward queens for title of "Queen of the Duchesne Stake Gold and Green Ball," at the Duchesne ward and stake chapel, Saturday Satur-day night, March 10. |
