Show Lower Grades Win Prizes In OB SO Frojcol Contests Of the six $10.00 cash prizes' announced for the elementary schools in- the U.B.I.C. project contest for the first six grades in Duchesne county, five of them were awarded to the Roos-j evelt elementary school and the sixth went to Myton. According to' John B. Gale, ' publicity director of the U.B.I.C, the first, second, third, fourth j and fifth grades at Roosevelt were the winners, and at Myton 1 the sixth grade class, taught by Virginia Nielson, was tops. Both first grades taught by Mrs. Wil-kerson Wil-kerson and Mrs. Mitchell participated par-ticipated together in the project, and each were awarded $5.00 for their efforts. Mrs. Chugg's second, Mrs. Robinson's third; Mrs.- Buchan an's fourth, and Mrs. Nyberg's fifth grades were the other winners win-ners in the Roosevelt school, and each was awarded $10.00 by Mr. Gale. x J The contest was centered around the 1951 U.B.I.C. slogan, "The Colorado River, Utah's Last Water Hole," and the various var-ious projects were based on this subject. |
