Show Red Cross Blood obile Seeks Blood Donors The Red Cross Blood Mobile will again be in Roosevelt on Thursday, September 9, and will accept donors from 18 to 60 years of age. Plans for the Blood Mobile got underway at a meeting held at the City Hall Tuesday, when Kenneth R. Nelson, Nel-son, M. D., and Orin Beck-strand, Beck-strand, administrative director of the program, both of Salt Lake City, convened with the local chairman, Mrs. Ned Bel-Ion, Bel-Ion, and organization heads to effect the mobile organization. Eight donors will be scheduled sched-uled every 15 minutes, with doctors and nurses present to decide whether or not a person is able to give the blood. People from Duchesne County Coun-ty will be eligible to receive Red Cross drawn blood and may be hospitalized any place in the United States where the hospital hos-pital is participating in the Red Cross program. 10,000 pints of blood a year are needed to supply sup-ply these hospitals in the Inter-mountain Inter-mountain region. 15,000 pints are the quota for this fiscal year for the department of defense de-fense for pure blood derivities. Blood will also be on hand at the local hospital for patients' pa-tients' immediate use. According to' Mrs. Bellon, soliciting so-liciting for donors will be handled hand-led by the Socialette Club and the Relief Societies throughout the stake; transportation, Culture Cul-ture Club and BPW Club; and Mobile registration, reception, donor rooms and canteen, American Amer-ican Legion Auxiliary. |
