Show 1 , Duchesne Will Host GOP Leaders At Rally Oct. 24 Wallace F. Bennett, Dr. Preston Pres-ton L. Jones and Judge Joseph E. Nelson, Republican standard bearers in the forthcoming election, elec-tion, wii! make a day-long visit to Duchesne county next Tuesday, Tues-day, Oct. 24, to discuss issues of the present campaign and attempt at-tempt to influence the voters of the Uintah Basin to support th'.m on November 7, is an announcement an-nouncement made today by J. V. McLea, county GOP chairman. chair-man. Itinerary for the senate, congress con-gress and supreme bench candidates, can-didates, respectively, according to ' Mr. McLea, will begin by meeting people in Myton, Neola and Roosevelt areas in the morning morn-ing with a luncheon-meeting scheduled for the Frontier Grill, Roosevelt, at 12 o'clock noon for GOP members. This will be i their only public appearance in the eastern part of the county, since the major rally is set for Duchesne at 8:15 in the evening. Mr. McLea indicated that only a limited number of persons per-sons can be accommodated at the Frontier Grill, so those desiring de-siring reservations for the dinner din-ner should see Horace Allred, Ken Aycock or Bob Ferron as soon as possible. Ezra J. Nixon is in charge of program arrangements arrange-ments for the dinner and will act as master of ceremonies. At 2:30 the party will swing to Mt. Emmons and Altamont, where the candidates will meet ahd talk to people of that part of the county. A 4:30 meeting is on the docket for Tabiona, and at 6:30 the visitors will be entertained at dinner. Mrs. Manila Madsen. county Republican chairwoman, of Duchesne, Du-chesne, is in charge of arrangements arrange-ments for the Duchesne rally, which will be held at either the school house or the Aar:can Legion hall. In addition to the i three congressional and judicial I candidates, local office seekers .will be introduced at the various var-ious meetings. Mr. McLea will preside over the rallies and will personally head the tour of the candidates. |
