Mervin has been stationed at Camp Bill, Kentucky, since his return from the European Theatre The-atre of war. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Nixon and Hollis Hullinger were among the Roosevelt people who attended at-tended conference at Salt Lake City last week. Kitchen, Mrs. Iva See-ley, See-ley, Mrs. Frances Horrocks, of the faculty of the Alterra high school left Wednesday evening to attend the U.E.A. held in Salt Lake City this weekend. j TSgt. Albert Cook and Mrs. Edna Williams and little son, Reggie, of Helper, spent a short time visiting the Johnnie Cooks in Roosevelt Monday. Sgt. Cook has been in the Hawaiian Islands Is-lands for three years. The Roosevelt Creamery will open its new meat curing- plant on November 1, according to Owner Leo Hansen. It will be one of the most modern of such establishments in Utah. .HdYgBTHTTH The Roosevelt city council in session Tuesday evening appointed ap-pointed a committee and authorized author-ized them to negotiate for the purchase of a municipal airport, located northeast of the city. The committee named includes Ted Harmston, Clyde Larsen and John E. Wiscombe. W. G. Gentry, of Ioka, prominent prom-inent Uintah cattle raiser, was transacting business in Roosevelt Roos-evelt Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Dillman entertained at a delightful luncheon at their home Monday Mon-day honoring Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Wolfe, of New York City, and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Todd, of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Ross Bartlett, of Salt Lake City. A beautifully appointed bridge luncheon was given by Mrs. C. C. Larsen at her home here Wednesday afternoon for members of the Just-A-Mere bridge club. Oscar Nelson, of Upalco, attended at-tended the board meeting of the Moon Lake Water Users' association associ-ation here Tuesday. . Mr. and Mrs. Ashel Bingham. ,of Myton, were honored Sunday Sun-day at a reunion of their entire family including their twelve children, husbands and wives of children, and grandchildren. Dinner covers were laid for 36. Those registered at the BYU at Provo this year from Du-chesne Du-chesne county are Ronald Wis-I Wis-I combe, Esther Stevens and Mary Lou Redmond. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Gagon, Jr. went to Salt Lake City the latter part of the week to attend at-tend conference and the Utah State Fair. Mrs. Joseph Moysh is in Salt Lake this week attending the convention of the Eastern Star. Miss Pearl Nelson, who has been on a mission to the Northeastern North-eastern States and Canada, returned re-turned home Monday. The Future Farmers of America Amer-ica of the Duchesne county high school are victors again, having captured the Tribune trophy. They walked away with twenty-one twenty-one ribbons and won first place in Division B in the state at the Utah State Fair. Instructor is Walter E. Atwood and boys of the winning group are: Eleen Young. Bert Bolton, Ellis Bolton, Bol-ton, Howard Lucan and Elmer Eldredge. |
