Show Possession Of Fawns Unlawful It is unlawful for anyone to have fawn deer in their possession, posses-sion, according to the Utah Fish and Game department. While in the past no arrests have been made, the department warns that unless citizens abstain from the practice, it will be necessary neces-sary to charge them with illegal il-legal possession. Generally, the fawns are "kidnapped" "kid-napped" b y . misunderstanding people, who believe the mothers have abandoned their young or have been killed. However, in most cases, the mother has only hidden the fawn while she is out to graze. Does carefully hide their fawns during the first few weeks of infancy, often leaving them for a period as long as ten hours. Actually, by the mother's absence, the fawn is given protection from predators. "Kidnapped" fawns, if they grow up past the bottle stage, often become a problem.
