Show Tabiona Farmer Ss Commissioner GOP Candidate Elwood B. Carter, of Tabiona, has filed for 4-year county commissioner com-missioner on the Republican ticket. His family came to the Uintah Uin-tah Basin in 1943, moved to Salt Lake City for four years, returning here in 1947 to make their home. He served as a director di-rector of R.E.A for a year, assuming as-suming temporary managership part of the time. He has had 20 years of business busi-ness experience, including transportation trans-portation and salt manufacturing, manufactur-ing, a business in which he acted act-ed as president and general manager man-ager for four years. He also spent eight years in construction construc-tion work with- the Armco Drainage and Metal Products. This included all types of road construction. He has traveled, and inspected 160,000 miles of roads and bridges in six western west-ern states. He has always been active in church and civic affa'rs, holding such offices as stake welfare director, ward clerk, stake adult Aaronic Priesthood adviser. He also has served in the MIA, and as a teacher in Sunday School. He spent 14 years -in Scout work. All the above activities took place irs Salt Lake before he moved to the Uintah Basin. He served three years as MIA superintendent in Duchesne Du-chesne Stake, and is now active in the Tabiona Ward as the adult Aaronic Priesthood adviser, advis-er, as well as being the teacher of the genealogy clas? and of th teacher trainer class. Mr. Carter is now working on a water project with Water Commissioner B. O. Colton, which will benefit all farmers in Duchesne County. He comes to this county well qualified ' for this office. |
