Show 'Buy Band Uniforms' Carnival Is banned For August 22nd; Entire Area Asked To Cooperate A carnival set for August 22 at Union High School is in the making, with proceeds to be used for band uniforms. According Accord-ing to Rex O. Curry, Fort Duchesne, Du-chesne, who is chairman of the committee, much enthusiasm was shown at a recent meeting where plans were formulated, with committees from outlying communities present. All favored fav-ored the recommended plan of the carnival and expressed willingness will-ingness to cooperate and make one grand affair of the project instead of each, community trying try-ing to raise funds. The grand prize to be given away at the carnival will be a deep-freeze, donated at cost by Leavitt Equipment. Other' prizes priz-es on the list will be a 22 rifle, fish pole, and two seasonal basketball bas-ketball and football tickets. The communities that were not represented and that were not assigned any definite concession con-cession are as follows: Whitt-rocks, Whitt-rocks, Myton( Lapoint, Tridell. i Ballard, ' Bennett, Monarch and Montwel. It was suggested .. that a dart game, a fancy-work booth, and other concessions could be operated, oper-ated, so the above communities are asked to contact Mr. Curry for an assignment. A meeting to work out final details will be called in the near future. Mrs. Horace Allred and Mrs. Bertha Herbert returned Sunday Sun-day night from ' Salina, whers they had spent several days. |
