Nielson Preliminary engineering data has been completed for the cana) headings for the Burns Bench and Murray Ditch Company, of Jensen. Alton Vernon was in charge of the crew. SCS Harvey Christensen completed 1,000 feet of rip-rap on Dry Fork, and Dan Freed installed 700 feet of rip-rap on his ranch at Ouray. SCS Fifty-one acres of land leveling level-ing has been completed by three farmers Vern Huff, Le-ota, Le-ota, 21 acres; V. L. Winterton, Ouray, 25 acres; Lee Bennion Davis, 5 aeres. SCS Humphry Phosphate Company has -completed three stock ponds on their range land north of Vernal, and A. P. Voorhies, of Maeser, has built a farm pond. SCS Grant Parrish has made soil surveys and prepared ranch plans for William Harrew and Dan Freed. . SCS Bill Evans, of Mt. Emmons, has repaired the flood damage to his pond. SCS It is reported that hot weather has reduced production on some irrigated pastures in the Basin. Best pasture yields are received when a pasture is fenced to provide not less than four separate sep-arate units. The cows are then put-in one. unit for a week, another an-other unit the next week, and so on. With this system, each unit grows for three weeks and is grazed for one week. |
