Show U. U. To Supplement Summer Classes With Special Educational Events SALT. LAKE CITY Maintaining Main-taining its recent policy of continuing con-tinuing full-scale education during dur-ing the summer months, the University of Utah will sponsor 22 conferences, institutes or workshops in addition to regular regu-lar summer session classes, Dr. A. Ray Olpin, president of the University, announced today. Information on the special features of the 1950 summer session ses-sion was announced in the summer sum-mer catalog being distributed by the University Press under the direction of Dr. Harold W. Bent-ley, Bent-ley, dean of the summer session and University editor. Three of the courses will be offered for the entire quarter, while the others will run either during the first session, from June 19-July 21, or during the post session, from July 25- Aug. 30. Full time courses include the Audio - Visual Education workshop, a course in comparative compara-tive literature and one in oriental orien-tal philosophy. In addition to the special features fea-tures there also will be field courses in archaeology, botany and geology, while the Institute of World Affairs and the Institute Insti-tute of Government will continue con-tinue their services. Conference and workshop dates include: Writers' Conference, Confer-ence, June 19-30; Educational Supervision, June 19-July 7; Clinic for Handicapped Children, June 19-July 21; The Alcohol Problem and Education, Aviation Avia-tion and Pre-Flight Training, Comparative Education, Counseling Coun-seling and Guidance, Secondary Education, and Vocation Education Educa-tion conferences, all from June 19-July 22; Educational Administrators Admin-istrators and Institute of Professional Profes-sional Relations, June 20-24; Education Ed-ucation of the Exceptional Child, June 20-July 2; Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation, June 20-July 20-July 21; Institute on Supervision, Super-vision, June 26-30; College conference, con-ference, June 28-July 1; Welfare Administration, July 10-15; Kindergarten Kin-dergarten Education Workshop and the Family Life Institute, both from July 25-Aug. 11; Orthopedic Or-thopedic Nursing, July 31-Aug. 4, and the Printing Institute, Aug. 9-18. |
