Show Chairman's Illness Fails To Stop , Liberty Truck The Liberty Bell truck and its guard of honor Wednesday carried the U. S. Savings Bonds Independence drive throughout Duchesne county, despite the illness ill-ness of Heber T. Hall, county bond chairman. Mr.' Hall fainted while at work early Wednesday morning, and was taken to Salt Lake City for a medical examination. In his absence, MSgt. W. R. Jenning's, army recruiting officer of-ficer for this area, directed the Liberty truck on its county-wide tour. The Savings Bonds party was met in Duchesne at 10 a. m. by a large parade, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and various var-ious civic organizations. Mayor Otto Johnsen, Superintendent Floyd Holm, and Postmaster William Case addressed the assembled as-sembled crowd. After brief stops at Altamont and Bluebell, the party reached Roosevelt about 6 p. m. Because of the illness of Chairman Hall, a hastily improvised impro-vised reception committee greeted greet-ed the Liberty Truck on its arrival. ar-rival. Mayor Homer P. Edwards welcomed the group, after which Sgt. Jennings and his assistant, as-sistant, Lester Hoesch, of the Commercial Truck Lines of Utah, delivered addresses in the interest of bond sales. |
