Show Mr. Cliff Memmott Editor, Roosevelt Standard Since our meeting yesterday I have tried to think of some way to thank each and every individual individ-ual and organization which represented rep-resented itself at the Red Cross organizational meeting yesterday. I should like to write each person a note of appreciation, but due to my inadequate typewriting abil-i abil-i ity it seemed that perhaps you might possibly relay my most sincere thanks to them. This visit has certainly bolstered my faith in the people of Roose- velt and Duchesne County. It is my hope that when we have achieved an active Red Cross chapter, one that is representative representa-tive of the entire county, that we can sponsor a program of service and preparedness. Through such organization we can keep the blood flowing to those in the hospital hos-pital there and to the military and veterans hospitals and to many other hospitals who have elected to join us in this endeavor. We can train many people how to take care of themselves when injured, in-jured, until doctor's services can be obtained. We can assist many housewives in learning the techniques tech-niques of home nursing. We can assure every man who serves his county that his family will receive re-ceive assistance if needed while he is away. And we can join hands and perfect a coordinating agency to care for the needs of the many transients who travel the highways through our county. These are many of the things which can be done. This meeting is a true indication indica-tion of what can be done when agencies listed below answer the call of service to their community: Mayor's office, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, the Church, American Legion, Legion Auxiliary, Indian Agency, Socialette Club, County Attorney's office, and others with whom I'm not familiar. Thanks again, and I look forward for-ward to my next visit to your fine city. Sincerely, Charles DeKlyen |
