Show Texas Operator Opens Grand Junction Office William J. Carey, an independent indepen-dent oil operator from Dallas, I Texas, has opened a district office of-fice in Grand Junction, Colorado, to direct exploration for Uranium and allied minerals. Mr. Carey has been active in the Rocky Mountain oil picture since 1950, but this is his first venture in the mining field. He is interested in acquiring proper-I proper-I ties of merit that justify spend- ing money for evaluation and de-I de-I velopment. He will undertake intensive in-tensive core-hole testing of such acreage. Harry E. Haynes has been appointed ap-pointed exploration manager of the new office. Mr. Haynes, a I graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, is an experienced geological-engineer. He was associated associat-ed for several years with the Pure Oil Company in the Four Corners area in Billings, Mont. More recently he has specialized in Uranium as a geological consultant con-sultant on the Colorado Plateau. Mr. Haynes is a member of the American Institute of Mining Engineers, En-gineers, the Geological Society of America, the American Associa-1 tion of Petroleum Geologists, the ' Billings, Four Corners and Grand Junction Geological Societies, and j the Society of Exploration Geo- physicists. ! 1 The Carey office is located on the second floor of the Vorbeck Building, 132 South Fourth St., Grand Junction.
