Show Gold-Green Ball Is Social Hit Of Season Silver snowflakes, suspended from a blue canopy, provided an attractive setting for the Gold and Green Ball, which was held in the Neola chapel last Wednesday Wednes-day evening. The theme "Susie Snowflake Comes to Town," was further enhanced by snow covered fir trees, which formed a background back-ground for the song-and-dance routine of Jenette Smithson, who portrayed the part of Susie Snow-flake. The floor show was directed di-rected by Leland Peterson, with the following couples participating: participat-ing: Neil Duncan and Charlotte j Henrie, Ferrell Crozier and Mavie Dye, Ardell Olsen and Arvella Eksund, Loren LaRose and Karen Bastian, Ronald Mitchell and Mona Allred, and Larry Dye and Elaine Duncan. A large crowd danced' to the music of Tal Wardle and his orchestra, or-chestra, with several out-of-town couples and members of the stake board in attendance. GO TO TEMPLE The following group from Neola attended the Stake Temple Excursion Excur-sion which was held in Salt Lake City last Friday: Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Smithson, Mildred Ander-ton Ander-ton and Harold Whiting. Mrs. W. Stevenson and daughter, daugh-ter, of Duchesne, were visitors last Thursday at the Thad Wilkerson Wil-kerson home. COMMUNITY CLUB Members of the Community Club were entertained with a timely and informative lecture on Civil Defense, which was presented present-ed by Mrs. Clair Ashton and Mrs. Parley Rawlings of Roosevelt. The affair was held at the home of Mrs. . Evan Olsen with a large crowd in attendance. Delicious refreshments re-freshments were served at the close of the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Glines, of Vernal, visited relatives in Neola last Saturday. They recently sold their store in Maeser and plan on going to Arizona for the remainder re-mainder of the winter. Mrs. Zora Gardner and Mrs. Palmira Peterson were on the sick list the past week. Lecta Horrocks taught their classes during their absence. Warden Olsen, of Salt Lake, spent the weekend here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Olsen. Ol-sen. Mrs. Berniece Nelson and two children, Diane and Richard, of Roosevelt, were Sunday guests at the Kent Nelson and Orrin Gardner Gard-ner homes. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Gutzman. of Ft. Duchesne, stake MIA dance directors for the MIA, were in Neola last Monday evening. They assisted in the directing of a group to represent this ward in the floor show at the stake Gold and Green Ball, which will be held at Victory Park the last of January. |
