Sather of the Sather Jewelry Jew-elry Store arrived home Monday, accompanied by his wife, Bonnie, who met him at Denver. Bob is stationed at Washington, D. C. in the U. S. Navy. Harry Sprouse, who recently resigned re-signed from his city marshal position po-sition and took over the game warden position, has been doing a splendid job on eradication of the magpies in this vicinity. Fire Chief Dick Scholes and city commissioners, Jack Zimmerman, Zimmer-man, V. A. Bair and Lloyd La-brum La-brum left Roosevelt Wednesday of this week on an inspection trip to several cities for the purpose pur-pose of inspecting different Fire Fighting equipment in the state. Mrs. George E. Stewart and two daughters, Mary Ellen and RaNee, left Friday for California where they will make their home while Mr. Stewart is in the army. 20 YEARS AGO LaVoyle Wilkins was seriously injured in a car accident which happened Friday night while she was coming home from Vernal after the basketball game and dance. She was in a car driven by Merrel Colton who complied com-plied with the request of LaVoyle to drive part of the way. When they got to Victory Park LaVoyle became tired of driving, and told Merrel to take the wheel. He did not hear her and consequently the car was not guided and went over the embankment. The annual meeting of the Roosevelt State Bank was held in the directors rooms of the bank Monday, January 14. The following directors were elected: EIRoy Wilkins, Charles F. Schrader, Ray E. Dillman, Fred Neumyer and Sam G. Weiss. The officers selected are EIRoy Wilkins, Wil-kins, president; Charles Schrader, vice-president; R. S. Jordan, cashier cash-ier and J. O. Orser, assistant cashier. Attorney Ray E. Dillman, former form-er president of the Utah State senate, left Roosevelt Thursday of last week, upon a call by Governor Gov-ernor Henry H. Blood, along with four others who will represent the state of Utah, at a conference of Colorado River Basin state, to be held in Phoenix, Arizona. Bishop and Mrs. Heber T. Hall Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Calder, Mr. and Mrs. Homer P. Edwards and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Smith entertained enter-tained a few of their friends at their birthday party Saturday evening eve-ning at the Edward's home. |
