Show A Front Page Editorial .... What About Registering and Voting? In Case All Voters In The Uintah Basin Might Have Forgotten For-gotten Three Important Dates This Reminder IS Being Written I This Week! I First of these three important dates happens to be next ! Tuesday, October 30 And the next one, which is the Second ! js Wednesday, October 31st. . . . Right You Are It is Hallowe'enBut Hal-lowe'enBut That Isn't the MAIN REASON October 30 and 31 are IMPORTANT. . . . They are the last days citizens, who are qualified to vote, can register for the Big Election which comes the following Tuesday, November 6th. You have the right answer TUESDAY, NOVEMBER SIXTH, is the third IMPORTANT DATE all Americans should get firmly fixed in mind. It isn't going to do a bit of good if we just remember these three important dates, and then promptly forget to check with the registration agent in our voting precinct to see if our names ; are on the books. Then on Tuesday, Nov. 6, we climb in our I automobiles and head for a trip, or go to work, or just plain stay on the job, or at home and forget to exercise our God-given God-given privilege of helping to select those people who will represent rep-resent us in the halls of congress; on capitol hill as our governor and other state officials in our own state legislature; or in our county offices. The past weeks have brought volumns of campaign oratory from the lips of candidates. We have read it in our newspapers; heard it on the radio and over television. What we have read or heard, has been mild with what will be thrown at us durin the next ten. days. As was pointed out in a brief editorial last week, this election campaign is shaping into one where more heat is being generated than light, as candidates level off on each other in a name-calling campaign that most certainly, in some instances, is failing to impress the voters with reasons ; why he should be elected to office. Cold as some of these facts are, they should be studied I as we read our newspapers, hear our radios and watch TV I programs, or receive literature from the hands of a campaign worker. These facts and figures will add up to the record, and the record is what we should study before deciding who' will receive our Support on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Remember, none of us can vote for any candidate unless .we are registered. . . . Also Let's remember those three very IMPORTANT Dates, Oct. 30 and 31st, when we can register, and Nov. 6th, the day we vote. |
