Show Mrs. Shelby Lisonbee Attend Wedding Of Daughter In S. L. Temple Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Walters and daughter, Ruth, returned home Wednesday night from Salt Lake City, where they had gone to attend the wedding of their son and brother, Leon, to Arleene McMullin. The new Mr. and Mrs. Walters Wal-ters were married Sept. 3, in the Salt Lake L D S Temple by Harold B. Lee. Wednesday evening, a wedding wed-ding reception honoring the young couple was held at the LDS Institute of Religion at 274 University Street, Salt Lake City, after which they left . on a wedding trip to Canada. The bride and groom are both employed at Z C M I in Salt Lake. Leon completed an LDS mission to Canada and served two years in the Navy. They will make their home in Salt' Lake. Mrs. Mary Wardell went to Salt Lake City to meet her husband. hus-band. Buddy, who is being released re-leased from the armed forces. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Sempkins, of Circleville, and Mrs. Susie Giles, of Heber, were visitors last week at the home -of Mr.' and Mrs. J. A. Halladay. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Alma Smith during the week were: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Abplanalp and children of Cedar City; Mrs. Russell Smith, of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Smith and children, of Orem; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Abplanalp, Mr. and Mrs. William Abplanalp, of Utahn. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar eNilson and boys were Sunday dinner guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle L. Young, at Mt. Emmons. Em-mons. Two children were confirmed members of the LDS Church at Sacrament meeting Sunday, while three babies were given names. Wilma Wright, a daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Wells Wright was confirmed a member mem-ber of the church while her infant sister was blessed and given the name of Vicki Lyn. Charlotte Hamilton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Hamilton was confirmed and her baby brother was blessed and given the name Rodney Calvin. The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Stansfield was given the name Laurene. Alma Smith and Eugene Abplanalp Ab-planalp took a load of lambs to Ogden Stock Yards on Wednesday Wed-nesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wright are the happy parents of a new baby girl born Aug. 29 at the Roosevelt. L D S Hospital. GENEALOGY MELTING A special genealogy meeting was held Sunday evening with Bishop Carl Van Tassell presiding pre-siding and Elden Brady conducting. con-ducting. The program was under un-der the direction of Malcolm Walters. Speakers were J. Alma Smith and Ronald Lisonbee. Special musical numbers included a piano pi-ano solo by Hazel Walters, a vocal duet by Judy Halladay and Jane Liddell, accompanied by Mona Liddell. "OUR QUEEN" The people of Bridgeland were very proud of their contestant con-testant in the "Miss Duchesne County" contest. She was the pretty and dainty Miss Lorraine Price, a Union High senior student stu-dent and a daughter of Archie Price. Congratulations to Lorraine on her outstanding performance. ! A LOT OF AIRPLANES Several Bridgeland farmers, while at work in their fields Thursday morning, witnessed a very unusual sight when 22 beautiful silver airplanes flew over this vicinity. The planes were flying in formation and very high. They might have been mistaken for Flying Sau cers if they had not been seen by the keen eyes of farmers who are used to looking in the distance to see if the cows are in the corn. Mr. and Mrs. Mirl Jennings, Sr., were Salt Lake City business busi-ness visitors Tuesday. Wilma Meyers is the office girl at Roosevelt Junior High this year. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Walters and daughter, Ruth, visited in Utahn Sunday. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Lisonbee were Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood Lisonbee. Lison-bee. of Roosevelt, and Mr. and Mrs Ronald Lisonbee. Three Bridgeland girls participated par-ticipated in the recital August 28 presented by Mrs. Lela La-brum's. La-brum's. piano' students. They were Carol Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Taylor; Valoy and Kay Wright, daughters ofi Mr. and Mrs. Wells Wright. ' |
