Show GOP Women Of County Met Here August 30 A Republican ladies luncheon was held in the American Legion Le-gion Hall here Saturday. Aug. 30, at 1 p. m. Mrs. Manila Mad-sen, Mad-sen, of Duchesne, county vice-chairwoman, vice-chairwoman, was in charge. Speakers were Mrs. Joseph L. Worthlin, president of the Utah Federated Women's Republican Clubs and Mrs. Lloyd V. Pyne, state vice-chairwoman, both of Salt Lake City. The following women were present: Mrs. Pearl McConkie, of Roosevelt, county committee-woman; committee-woman; Mrs. Evelyn Williams, Spanish Fork, regional director of clubs; Mrs. B. H. Stringham and Mrs. Shimmin, Vernal; Mrs. Jesse Allen, Myton; Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Slye and Mrs. Maurine Mickelson, Duchesne; Mrs. Adeline Ad-eline Anderson and Mrs. Charlotte Char-lotte Erickson, Talmage; Mrs. Leora Oman, Mrs. Velma Field- sted, Boneta; Mrs. Ilene McConkie, McCon-kie, Mrs. Ruth Hartman. Mrs. Vera Holder, Mrs. Vera Reay. Mrs. Anna Hartman, Mt. Emmons; Em-mons; Mrs. Madeline Dastrup, of Roy; Mrs. Margaret Maxfield, Altonah. A woman's Republican club was organized and was named The Altamont Club. The officers are Velma Fieldsted, president; Ruth Hartman, vice president; Margaret Maxfield. secretary; Ilene McConkie, reporter. Following are the names of the other members; Margaret Slye, Vera Reay, Leona Oman, Mrs. Joseph Worthlin, Evelyn Williams, Mrs. Jesse Allen, Anna Hartman, Vera Holder,. Maurine Mickelson, Madeline Dastrup, Pearl McConkie, Marion Mar-ion Reese and Alora Kolb. The Auxiliary served lunch before the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Junior Potts and daughters, of Logan, spent a few days recently with Mrs. Potts' mother, Mrs. Elva Snyder, Sny-der, and other relatives. Ken Davis, of Magna, was in Altonah on business Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Neldon Oliver from Carbon County visited at the Ed Olsen home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Beebe and son, Mike, were overnight guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beebe on Tuesday of last week. Mrs. John Anderson, of Bluebell, Blue-bell, and Mrs. Floid Hartman, of Mt. Emmons, called last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Tallerico and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Miller, of Dragerton; Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Tallerico. of Castle Dale, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Kar-ren, Kar-ren, of Bonanza, and Mr. and Mrs. Clair Liddell and daughter, LaRue, of Roosevelt, were weekend week-end guests of Mr. and" Mrs. Jerry Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell. They all enjoyed en-joyed an outing at the Clarence Clar-ence Jones resort, Sunday. Mrs. Wanda Bowden and girls, of Bonanza, spent Saturday Satur-day at the home of Mrs. Mary Bowden. i Lowell Leavitt spent a week visiting relatives in Bonanza. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Anderson Ander-son and family, of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Bowden and girls, of Gusher, spent the weekend and Sunday afternoon with their mother, Mrs. Mary Bowden, and with their brothers, Clinton, and family, and Louie. Ben Perkins, of Mt. Emmons, Em-mons, and Wm. Preese, of Myton, My-ton, called at the Lawrence Weeks home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Allred and Clyde Lambert made a trip to Colorado to visit their daughter daugh-ter and son, Pfc. and Mrs. Ray Lambert. Ray is in military mili-tary service and is stationed in Colorado. |
