Show Mrs. Ellen Bracken Phone 62062 Primary Workers Go To Convention Ballard ward Primary were very well represented at the 2-stake Primary convention held at Vernal on Saturday. The following fol-lowing officers and teachers attended: at-tended: Bishop Golden Collins, Virga Page, Osa Hullinger, Nita White, Ardis Kettle, Patsy Hullinger, Hul-linger, Lois Cook, Florell Collins, Col-lins, Afton Brighton, Rhea Mc-Mullin, Mc-Mullin, Anna Johnson, Norma Johnson, Velma Winn, LaRena Ricks, Beth Mangum, May Jenkins Jen-kins and Alice Squire. PREPARATION MEETING Primary ward Preparation meeting was held at the new home of Mrs. Dean Frandsen , at Roosevelt, with a good number num-ber of the Primary officers and teachers present. After lesson work and business were taken care of, refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Betts received word of a new grandson, grand-son, a baby boy, born to Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Betts in California. Cal-ifornia. Wendel Johnson is attending summer school at the B.Y.U. He plans on coming home over the weekends. Mrs. Johnson and family plan on staying here until un-til fall. Mrs. Squire Mangum was quite ill last week and was confined con-fined to the Roosevelt Hospital for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Murray and small son, of Ft. Collins, Colo., spent the weekend at the home of Mrs. Murray's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Von Haslem. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Taylor and daughter, of Altamont, visited vis-ited on Saturday with Mrs. Pearl Garcia and the Jack Muny family. Rev. and Mrs. Ferris Winn and two small daughters, of Holbrook, Arizona, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Winn last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn McClure are the proud parents of a baby boy, born at the Roosevelt Hospital June 13. Bishop and Mrs. Golden Collins, Col-lins, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger, Hul-linger, Mr. and Mrs. Alden White and Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Johnson were among those from Ballard who attended the June LDS Temple excursion. HOME FROM SERVICE Mr. and Mrs. Stephen El-dredge El-dredge arrived from Seattle, Washington on Saturday. Stephen Steph-en has his honorable discharge from service, after having spent several years in it. At present they are at the home of his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond El-dredge. El-dredge. Charles Bingham accompanied accompan-ied his son, Melvin, to Hill Creek last week, where they spent several days. Celia Kay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jenkins, has been on the sick list last week. Robert Stolla, who has employment em-ployment in Salt Lake City, spent the weekend with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Stolla. Another son, Eric, and his wife and children were visitors with the Stollas on Saturday. They live in Salt Lake City, also. Wm. Jenkins received word of the death of his brother-in-law, Tom Robinson, of Rigby, Idaho, last week. Mrs. Ralph O'Neil and small son, of Price, are visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McMullin. Mrs. George Bracken spent several days in Salt Lake City last week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Karl Bracken and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pool. She also visited with Mrs. Lynn Bracken in Tooele. Several men from Vernal are painting at the Alterra school in preparation for school. An outdoor party will be held in Roosevelt on Friday evening' eve-ning' for Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Dillman. The ward members are all invited. Mrs. LaRayne Willis and family, fam-ily, Mrs. June Sevensen, of Reno, Nevada, Mrs. Violet Thompson of Logan, Mrs. Bertha Ber-tha Nye and family, of Ogden, Mrs. Alda Lee Hall and family, fam-ily, of Ogden, also, are visiting at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. David Lundberg and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Winn. The ladies are sisters of Mrs. Lundberg and Mrs. Winn. Douglas Bryant took his mother, Mrs. Ella Bryant, to Vernal Saturday to consult a i doctor. Russel Todd and Ernest Johnson John-son made a trip to Rock Springs Wyoming, by plane, one day last week on business for the Uintah school. Word has been received that Larry Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard "Buzz" Larsen, left Ft. Lewis, Washington, on Tuesday to sail to' Japan. Larry was one of the few boys assigned as-signed to construction work. At present his wife is in Duchesne. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Gines and family motored to' Salt Lake City on Sunday to attend a Norton Nor-ton family reunion. Joan Angus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Angus, is confined con-fined to' her home now. |
