Murdock County Agricultural Agent Farm families of Utah will have opportunity to combine a pleasant vacation with a chance to' gather the latest tips on farming and homemaking on Thursday and Friday, July 8 and 9. On those dates a Farm and Home Institute will be held on the Utah State Agricultural College campus in Logan. Allan Kline, president of the National Farm Bureau Federation, Federa-tion, is a scheduled speaker, along with other nationally-known nationally-known figures. Tours and discussion dis-cussion meetings in both agricultural agri-cultural and home-making fields will add to the informational tone of the meetings. At the same time, care for the children and the pleasant surroundings of the USAC campus, cam-pus, located at the mouth of Logan Canyon, will give the whole family a rest. Kline will be the key speaker speak-er at an outdooT evening program, pro-gram, Thursday, July 8. Music, square dancing and other recreation rec-reation will provide fun for farm visitors from all parts of the state. An evening meeting is also' scheduled for Friday. A general session at 10 a.m. Thursday will get the two-day., event started, following registration regis-tration from 9 to 10. George Dewey Clyde, of the Utah Water Wa-ter and Power Board will speak on "What Echo Park Dam and Colorado River Development Means to Utah." Music and opening remarks will round out the first morning session. Tours and field demonstrations demonstra-tions for the men will display the work being done at the college col-lege in crops and livestock on j Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Question - and - answer sessions on production and eco-, nomics will cover the same fields Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, farm women will participate in tours and demonstrations demon-strations in the' fields of health, family life and child care, clothing, home management and foods nutrition. Recreational programs for the younger members of the family will be planned by a special committee. Meals and housing will be arranged at the time the farm families register. Carl Frischknecht, director of the USAC Extension Service, is chairman of the executive committee for the Farm and Home Institute. This committee also includes A. J. Morris, assistant as-sistant dean of the School of Agriculture, and Ethelyn O. Greaves, dean of the School of Home Economics.
