Show Snow Depths On Brown Duck Hears 54 Inches The average depth of snow is 53.6 inches, with a water content of 15.6 inches on the Brown Duck snow course above Moon Lake, according to a snow survey report made by Gilbert Horrocks. of the U. S. Soil Conservation Con-servation Service, and James A. Bird, of the Moon Lake Water Wat-er Users Association. The April 1 report last year showed a snow depth of 43.0 inches, containing con-taining 14.2 inches of water. The water content of the snow on this course is a little over 92 per cent of the average for the past 11 years, the report indicated. The April 1 report of snow and water conditions on the Lake Fork Mountain snow courses was made by Gregory L. Pearson, of the SCS, and Em-mett Em-mett Devine. Their report on the snow courses is as follows: Upper course (elevation 10,-500 10,-500 ft.) 44.2 inches of snow, with a water content of 12.4 inches. Last year on about Apr. 1, the snow depth was 35.4 inches with 9.3 inches of water. The 20-year average for this time of the year is 10.7 inches of water on the upper course. Middle course (elevation 8,-900 8,-900 ft.) 27.5 inches of snow, containing 8.9 inches of water. The 1953 report shows , a snow depth of 15.0 inches with 4.3 inches of water. Lower course (elevation 8,100 ft.) 22.1 inches of snow, containing con-taining 7.6 inches of water. Last year, the snow depth of 2.9 inches contained 0.5 inches of water. |
