Show Uintah Oasin Act ivivfes Days Mow Undenvay The annual Uintah Basin Activities Ac-tivities Days program opened Wednesday, April 7, with the vocal section at the Duchesne High School. This program featured fea-tured solo numbers, duets, trios, quartets, sextets from Uintah Basin High Schools. Lloyd N. Beckstead, Jr., music depart- ment instructor at the Duchesne High School, was in charge of this section of the program. Schools participating in the annual contests were Altamont, Duchesne, Roosevelt Jr. High, Tabiona, Uintah and Union. Second phase of the activities activi-ties will.be held at the Roose velt Jr. High School, Monday, April 12, featuring instrumental instrumen-tal contests, under the direction of Lawrence Lee, music instructor instruc-tor at Roosevelt Jr. High. This . program is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and continue until all instrumental soloists and small ensembles registered in the contest have performed. On April 15, the speech sec- ! tion of the Uintah Basin Activities Acti-vities Days will be held at Altamont, Al-tamont, and the following day, April 16, is the main day for the program when parade of bands, Pep clubs, and other groups will highlight the activities. acti-vities. This portion of the program pro-gram is also at Altamont. The sports part of the program pro-gram is scheduled to be held at Uintah High School in Vernal on April 17. : All events of Activities Days ', are open free to the public. |
