Show Randlett Viola Jensen Gold - Green Ball Held Last Week f"!larb?r V'8hts" was th? theme ot the Avalon ward Mutual Gold and Green Ball which was held Tuesday evening in the ward rec-re'aion rec-re'aion hall. Music was furnished by the Smith orchestra from Gush-er. Gush-er. Those participating in the floor show were: Peggy Wardle, Sybil Turner, Deana Durfee, Loretta Brown, Velma Pickup, Blanche Brown, Janet Brough, Shirley Pickup, Pauline Pickup, Chree Brough, Carolyn Stoddard and' Irene Jensen. Stake Mutual visitors vis-itors attending were Evan Perci-val, Perci-val, Blanche' Murphy and LaBerl Gutzman. Punch was served. Stanley Nebeker, Mariner Mc-MuIJin Mc-MuIJin and LaRue Pickup went to Vernal Saturday and met with the-county the-county commissioners regarding the county road in this area. SEEK ROAD AID A committee of Randlett and Ouray Lions Club went to Salt Lake City Tuesday and met with the State Road Commission regarding re-garding road improvement in the area. P-TA MEETS The Avalon P-TA met Thursday evening at the school' house. Vice-president, Vice-president, Jess Hullinger conducted con-ducted the meeting; Mrs. Beverly Hollingsworth sang, "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" and '"By the Light of the Silvery Moon;" Mrs. Mildred Anderson accompanied her I at the piano. Speaker for the' eve-I eve-I ning was Reese Anderson of Vernal, Ver-nal, child guidance consultant. A chilli supper was enjoyed by those attending. Ralph Tay lor was ' chosen to represent District No. 4 for the Moon Lake Electric Assn. A large group from here attended the REA meeting at Altamont Saturday. LADIES MAKE QUILT The Relief Society ladies met early Tuesday to quilt a quilt for Mrs. Nanna Jarman. Work was under un-der the direction of Mable Nebeker. Nebe-ker. A pot luck lunch was enjoyed by the ladies. The' quilt wasn't finished fin-ished Tuesday, so a group met on Thursday afternoon and finished quilting it. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Wardle and daughter, Peggy, and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Jensen and sons, Dennis and Eddie, went to Salt Lake City on Monday to attend the funeral of Mr. Wardle's brother, which was held Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs, Grant Pickup purchased pur-chased a new Mercury car Thursday. Thurs-day. Richard Durfee and Mrs. Fayel- len Barlow and son of Salt Lake City spent the weekend visiting their parents, the Fahy Durfees. Harold Dudley left Saturday morning for Boston, Mass., where he will attend a Soil Conservation meeting. Mrs. Beverly Hollingsworth will be the new teacher for the second and third grades at Avalon. Edgar Jensen, who is employed in Salt Lake City, spent the weekend week-end visiting here with his family. |
