Show CATHOLIC CHURCH ACTIVITIES Last Wednesday evening, the boys and girls of St. Helen's Cath olic parrish turned out wholeheartedly whole-heartedly for the opening meeting of a new Youth Program under the direction of the Franciscan Sisters Sis-ters of the Atonement. A wave of enthusiasm swept the parish hall when the purpose of this Youth organization was explained and future plans discussed. Seventeen boys and girls were present for the meeting. Two colored movies on vocations voca-tions were shown: "Captain In His Army," and "God's Career Women." A short talk on Vocations Voca-tions preceded the movies. After the meeting the boys and girls enjoyed en-joyed dancing, ping pong and other games. The meetings will be held every Wednesday evening at St. Helen's parish hall from 7:00 to 9:30. At the next session, election of officers of-ficers will take place and various committees appointed. It is expected ex-pected that all hoys and girls of the 7th through the 12th grades will turn out for the next meeting. On Monday, Feb. 13, from 4:00-7:00 4:00-7:00 p.m. a children's bazaar will be held at St. Helen's hall', sponsored spon-sored by the choir and high school combined. A we'll planned program pro-gram has been prepared by the various committees and plenty of fun is in store for all the children attending. There will be interesting interest-ing games for the kiddies and many grand prizes for all. St. Helen's kindergarten was the scene of two farewell' parties last week. The centerpiece was a big cake decorated in pink and white with farewell on the' top. The children chil-dren enjoyed games and' were served ser-ved cake, ice cream and candy. The boys who have been attending at-tending kindergarten since it opened op-ened in September, will be missed by their other class mate's, Kelly Gene Redmond moved to Price, and Steven Collen to Wallenburg, Colo. A farewell, gift was given to each. Marie Coltharp was a guest at kindergarten all last week and came each day with Paula Jean Stringham, as she was staying at her home while her mother was taking care of Mrs. Oral Coltharp in the Holy Cross HoHspital |
