Show Cur Boys h The Service JOHN S. (JACK) BURGESS John S. (Jack) Burgess, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Burges's, arrived home recently from the service, having been released Jan. 28. He served as a radioman 3c in the U. S. Navy. He joined the reserve in 1951 and volunteered' for active duty in 1954, receiving his basic training at San Diego.. He was on overseas duty in the Far East for' six months, participating in the evacuation of the civilians and troops in the Tietician Islands. Since that time he has participated participat-ed in operations out of San Diego Bay. During his time in the service he was assigned to the USS Bexar and also the USS Washburn, the ship from which he was released. Prior to his Naval service', Mr. Burgess attended Snow College at Ephraim for a year. He graduated with the class of '52 from Union High School. |
