Show SOCIETY Jr. Social Culture Club Mrs. Ned Bellon was hostess to members of the Jr. Social Culture Club at her home on Tuesday evening, with Mrs. Parley Par-ley Rawlings presiding. Mrs. Homer Edwards had charge of the educational program dealing with religion and presented two of the speeches which her students stu-dents gave in the declamation contest at Alterra Seminary. Bonnie Hullinger gave her talk on "Youth and Religion" and Mrs. Edwards read "Truth" which was prepared by Eldrcd Wilson. Both are students at Alterra Al-terra high. Mrs. Edwards also gave a clever reading "Grandpa and the Grindstone" which further fur-ther expressed the religious theme. Plans were made for the district dis-trict convention to be held at Vernal on April 12. Further details de-tails of the blood typing project were outlined, the objective being be-ing to start typing at an early date. Following the program and business meeting a tempting dessert des-sert luncheon was served to Mrs. Gordon Harmston, Mrs. Steve Bellon, Mrs. Orson Stevens, Mrs. Lee Allrcd, Mrs. Bill Nelson, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Jack Mohlman, Mrs. Homer P. Edwards, Ed-wards, Mrs. Clifton Laris, Mrs. Stanley Hall and Mrs. Cecil Jenkins. The collect was read by Mrs. Lee Allred. Neumeyer-Phillips Nuptials A lovely midafternoon wedding wed-ding took place in the presence of the immediate families and few close friends Sunday aftcr- noon when Miss Freda Neumey-cr, Neumey-cr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neumeyer of Lapoint, became the bride of Ted Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thco Phillips of Roosevelt. The marriage rites were performed at the home of the bride's parents and were read by Bishop Walker of Lapoint. The bride was charming in a floor-length dinner dress of delicate del-icate yellow sheer beautifully complimented by a corsage of shell pink carnations and white sweet peas. She was attended by Miss Joy Burton of Whiterocks, who wore a floor-length gown of blue satin. Irvin Miles acted as best man. Following the ceremony a dessert des-sert luncheon was served with a dainty three-tiered white wedding wed-ding cake topped by a tiny bride and bridegroom forming an artistic ar-tistic centerpiece. The young couple plan to make their home in Roosevelt. Friday Bridge Club Mrs. Louis Corbridge was hostess hos-tess to members and guests of the Friday Bridge Club at her home on March 15. A tempting salad course supper was served to Mrs. Clair Ashton. Mrs. John Bourne. Mrs. Sam Weiss. Mrs. Lester Mullins, Mrs. Axel Birch, Mrs. Carroll Robbins, Mrs. Eldon Campbell, Mrs. Cliff Fretwell, Mrs. Eugene Harmston, Mrs. R. Q. Warnock and Mrs. Robert Huish. Three tables of bridge were at play during the evening. Young-Day Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Young of Duchesne announce the marriage of their daughter, Lela, to Gerald Ger-ald W. Day, son of Commissioner Commission-er and Mrs. Willard Day 6f Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. The ceremony was performed per-formed in the Salt Lake L. D. S. Temple on March 15. Both Lela and Gerald are well known members of the younger set, both having graduated from the Roosevelt high school. Gerald Ger-ald has just returned from the South Pacific where he has served serv-ed with the U. S. Navy for the past eighteen months as a Fireman Fire-man first class. He will report to New York March 27 for reassignment. re-assignment. I Neighborhood Sewing Club The Neighborhood Sewing Club met at the home of Mrs. Stanley Hall on Wednesday, March 13, with Mrs. Art Allen, Mrs. Frank Yack. Mrs. Clifton Laris, Mrs. J. S. Rawlings, Mrs. Neldon Nybcrg, Mrs. Howard Andrews, Mrs. Floyd Labrum. Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs, Hal Gardner and Mrs. Josic Carmich-ael Carmich-ael as guests. Ladies' Fish & Game Club A meeting of the Ladies' Fish and Game Club will be held Monday, March 25, at 8:00 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Frank Yack. Just-A-Mere Club Mrs. Rcva Owen was hostess at a delightful luncheon at her home Wednesday night. Those present included the following members of Just-A-Mcrc Club: Mrs. Grant Killian. Mrs. Jack Zimmerman, Mrs. Tom White, Mrs. Clair Larsen, Mrs. Darrc-11 Walker, Mrs. Richard Adams, Mrs. Eldon Campbell, Mrs. Mont Killian, Mrs. Edgar Jensen, Mrs. Farrell Wilkins and Mrs. Orsen Stevens. Following luncheon three tables were, arranged for bridge with prizes going to Mrs. Jensen, Mrs. Killian, Mrs. Stevens, Stev-ens, Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Wilkins. Wil-kins. M. I. A. Dances The Roosevelt Ward M. I. A. Budget dances will be held every Saturday night at 8.30 at the ward hall. The S1.50 budget ticket entitles the purchaser to attend four dances while the S3. 00 ticket is good for twelve dances. All persons living in the ward are cordially invited to attend. at-tend. Marriage Announced Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mowrey of Tridell announce the marriage of their daughter, Iola, to Pfc. Ray Hatch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hatch of Telonia, Idaho. The young couple were united in a double ring ceremony performed on March 11. Clarence Redmond Marries Of interest to his many friends is the announcement of the marriage mar-riage of Clarence Redmond, son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Redmond Red-mond of Roosevelt, to Miss Ruth Roberts of Clayton, New Mexico in a double ring ceremony performed per-formed by Wayne Douglas, pastor pas-tor of the Methodist church in Clayton. . The young couple will make their home in Clayton, New Mexico Mex-ico where Mr Redmond is employed em-ployed with the Stanolind Oil Company and Mrs. Redmond is a teacher of dancing. Bridgeile Mrs. Jack Mohlman entertained entertain-ed Bridgctte Club at her home last Thursday evening. A delicious deli-cious dessert luncheon was served serv-ed at small tables with covers laid for Mrs. Jack Hoover, Mrs. Mont Killian, Mrs. Eldon Campbell, Camp-bell, Mrs. Parley Rawlings.
