Show BASIN BRIEFS Mrs. Josie Carmichacl of Ipswich, Ips-wich, England, is a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Yack. Mrs. Carmichacl served with the American Red Cross at a social club in Ipswich where she had the opportunity of becoming well acquainted with American soldiers. At the urgent request of the G I's, whose acquaintance she had made as a Red Cross worker, she decided to visit America and arrived in New York during January. After spending a week in New York as the guest of an American soldier's family, Mrs. Carmichacl came to Roosevelt to visit with Mr. and Mrs. George Walkup and Johnnie. After a short stay with the Walkup family she traveled to Canada to visit with her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Portway of West Vancouver, Van-couver, B. C. Having formed an attachment for Roosevelt, Mrs. Carmichacl returned here on March 10, and is now employed at the Roosevelt hospital. She hopes to make her home here. The Alterra Seminary students under the direction of Mrs. II. P. Mrs. George Bracken received ' a cablegram Monday from her J son T-4 Duane Bracken who is . stationed in Tokyo, Japan. Duane j advised his parents that he is j well but has received very little mail from home. Duane has been in Japan several months working work-ing as a carpenter. Mr. and Mrs. Art Anderson and two sons, of Dragerton, Utah, spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Anderson. Fay Roller was a Roosevelt visitor last weekend. While here she made arrangements to take over the beauty parlor at Reynold's Rey-nold's barber shop on or about April 1. John C. Roller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roller, has been advanced to the rank of sergeant. Sgt. Roller is stationed with the infantry in Japan. Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Mohlman left Monday for Boise, Idaho where Mr. Mohlman will be cm-ployed cm-ployed with the Bureau of Reclamation. Rec-lamation. After being stationed for approximately two years in i Panama, the Mohlmans only recently rec-ently returned to the States.
