Mrs. Velma Norton and children chil-dren of Ogden visited with Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Norton on Sun- d3Mr. and Mrs. Orvel Hullinger !and children of Vernal visited with Mrs. Hullinger's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bigelow, during the week. They accompanied accom-panied Mr. and Mrs. Roland Hullinger Hul-linger to Salt Lake City. The MIA held their Gold and f Green Ball Tuesday night in the chapel. The hall was beautifully decorated with gold and green paper- Ila Kump, the queen was dressed in green to represent the Month of March. A floor show i and program were presented. The party was also in honor of some of our boys who have recently re-cently been discharged, Elroy Walker, Vernon and Lamont Nielson, Loyal Cox and Kay Winn. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Merkley and son, and Mrs. L. H. Woodard of Vernal visited at the home of Minnie Reynolds one day during the week. Roland Hullinger of Ogden entertained en-tertained all the school children on Friday at the chapel with a magician show. Mrs. Hullinger and daughter, Toni, and Eula Hullinger, accompanied him here. Mrs. Kay Taylor of Seattle, J Washington visited her mother-in-law, Mrs. Roxa Taylor and other relatives during the week. Her husband, Martin Taylor who was a gunner on a B-29 was reported re-ported missing in November, 19-44. 19-44. The plane went down over Japan. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Fillerup and children of Vernal visited at the I home of Elmer Huber on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Dudley and daughter of Ogden visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neu-mycr, Neu-mycr, over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ross and family of Ve.rnal visited Mrs. Ross' mother, Mrs. Roxa Taylor, on Sunday. I Mrs. Marguetta Hislop Caldwell Cald-well of Vernal and Mrs. Dorothy Caldwell Luck left Monday for Portland, Oregon where they will visit relatives. They will also al-so visit Blaine Caldwell who is stationed at Seattle with the Navy. Laurence Woodward arrived home on Saturday night for a 15-day 15-day leave. He has been in the Navy a year, spending most of the time overseas. He is now stationed sta-tioned in Texas. Lyle Taylor left during the week for Salt Lake City to compete com-pete in the finals of the F F A speaking contest. He recently won the Duchesne and Uintah County contest. He is a senior at the Alterra high school. Ward conference was held in the Lapoint chapel with Bishop L. J. Walker presiding, A talk jwas given by Mervin Huber "Duties of a Deacon"; duet by Irva Huber and George Bigelow, accompanied by Mrs. Dona Har-tle. Har-tle. Talks were given by Pres-Archie Pres-Archie Johnson, Byron Goodrich and Laurence Fox of Vernal. A ward officers meeting was held after conference. |
