Show Tilt. Emmons Peggy Ann Case Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Russell, former residents of Mt. Emmons and Roosevelt, visited here with friends last Wednesday. The Rus-sclls Rus-sclls are now located at Meridian, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Perkins have been in Wyoming during the week. They were called there by the illness of Mr. Pcrkin's father. It is reported that the Alta-mont Alta-mont baseball team failed to organize or-ganize in time to enter the Basin League this season. Mrs. Leslie J. Orr has returned from Salt Lake after a week's stay there with her son, Richard. Doctors are hopeful of saving the sight in one eye, but his other eye is seriously . burned. Two operettas were staged at the Altamont gym Tuesday evening. eve-ning. "Waltz Time" was presented present-ed by the 8th grade, with Curtis Dastrup, Mona Miles, Barbara Allred and George Chapman singing the leading roles. The 7th grade presented "Kentucky Sue" with JoAnn Goodrich. Dar-lene Dar-lene Stevenson, Alton Thackcr and Clifton Wall as the leading hillbillies. Both operettas were directed by Mrs. Edythe T. Hansen. Han-sen. Miss Afton Smithson was accompanist for Waltz Time and Cheryle Ames, a 7th grade pupil, played for Kentucky Sue. The Altamont Seminary sut-dents sut-dents and thcir'instructor, Ben Gomni, left Saturday morning for a two-day excursion to Salt Lake City. Among . the places visited were Welfare Square, Temple Square, the Lion House, and the Sunday morning tabernacle taber-nacle broadcast. The senior class of the Altamont Alta-mont high school took a 4-day trip over the weekend. They were accompanied by their advisor, ad-visor, Harold Phillips. On Saturday Sat-urday they were guests of officials of-ficials of the Salt Lake Telegram who took them to places of interest in-terest in the city. Sunday morning, morn-ing, the class attended a broadcast broad-cast of the Tabernacle Choir on Temple Square. Other points of interest in Salt Lake and Provo were visited Monday. John H. Cook, his sons. Wayne and Orlan, of Roosevelt, and his daughter, Mrs. Ray Westwood and baby, of Rangely, Colorado, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Case. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Case have moved into their new home. This modern dwelling is situated situat-ed on the old elementary school lot. |
