Show Father Chas. Albright To Celebrate First High Mass At St. Helen's Church The Rev. Charles W. Albright, C.S.P. will celebrate a first solemn sol-emn high mass in St. Helen's Catholic church, Sunday, May 22 at 10 a. m., Father Wendel Luet-mer, Luet-mer, pastor of St. Helen's announced an-nounced this week. Sunday's service is particularly particular-ly significant since Father Albright Al-bright is well known in Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, being a graduate of the Roosevelt high school. He was received into the Catholic church on September 7, 1940 at Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. Following his graduation from the local high school, he commenced com-menced his studies for the priesthood priest-hood under the guidance of the Paulist Fathers of the New York province. He became a member of the Congregation of St. Paul and on i May 3, 1949 was ordained to the priesthood by Most Rev. Joseph F. Flannelly, Auxiliary Bishop of New York, in the church of St. Paul. Assisting Father Albright in the celebration of mass will be Rev. William E. Vaughn, Chancellor Chan-cellor of the Salt Lake Diocese, as deacon; Rev. San Pietro, C.S.P., of Layton, as sub-deacon; Father Wendel, O.S.B., pastor of St. Helen's, assistant priest, and Father Blaze, O.S.B.. Vernal, master of ceremonies. His Excellency, the Most Rev. Leo J. Steck, Auxiliary Bishop of the Salt Lake Diocese, will be a special guest and will preach the sermon. The Newman club choir of the University of Utah will furnish the music for the mass. "St. Helen's parish is very happy to welcome the first son of the parish to be elevated to the dignity of the priesthood," Father Wendel said. "Though we may have standing room only for some, we invite all the many friends of the newly ordained priest to celebrate with us and to receive his blessing." |
