Show I Utah 4-H Clabs To Exhibit j Wares At Centennial Exposition Plans for a Utah 4-H club centennial exhibition at the state fairgrounds in Salt Lake City, Sept. 15 - 20, were announced an-nounced today by David Sharp Jr., Utah State Extension club leader. More than 7,000 4-H boys and girls in the state will! be represented rep-resented at the exhibition, which ;will include displays of club I work in agriculture and home I economics, judging, demonstrations, demonstra-tions, a dress review, and awarding award-ing of prizes. There will be a record entry of livestock, crops, forestry, poultry, preserved fruit, sewing and other farm and home items, Mr. Sharp said. The exhibition will be on display dis-play Monday morning to Saturday Satur-day night, with the exhibition finale scheduled for Tuesday evening, Sept. 1G. Highlight of the finale will be the annual dress review at which 4-H girls from every county of the slate will model their winning county costumes. Winners of the various exhibits, 1 judging and demonstration teams will be announced and j awarded prizes. Demonstrations in food preser- j vation will be given all day Monday Mon-day and continued Tuesday in 1 the Homemakers building at the fairgrounds. The finale will also be held there. A new feature of the exhibition exhibi-tion this year will be meal preparation pre-paration contests, by "4-H girls working singly and as temg, in which they must buy ihe fod, prepare and serve a meal to four people and do the dishes on a total budget of $2 for dinners and $1.50 for suppers or lunch-! 1 eons. Livestock, crops, forestry and poultry judging contests will begin be-gin Monday at 9 a.m., with the actual judging of livestock at 1 p.m. Awards will include a trip to the national 4-H club congress in Chicago next December for two girls, the one who wins in' canning and the one who wins in dressmaking; a trip to Portland Ore., in October for the top team in agriculture and the win ning team in nomemaking- A I trip lo Denver, Colo., for the three members and one alternate alter-nate on the winning livestock I judging team; $50 and $25 war j bonds to winners in several divisions. di-visions. All exhibitors, judging and demonstration teams that participate parti-cipate at the state exhibition must qualify by first winning top honors in their counties, Mr. .Sharp explained. Because of the j special centennial celebration the number of exhibits from each county will be greater this ,year, Home economics exhibits are due at the fairgrounds Thursday. Thurs-day.
