Show Hopes Are For Biggest Fair In County's History Duchesne county will hold its annual county fair, starting September 12 with a Centennial theme that will carry through to the night of September 13, closing date for the exposition. With State Centennial Queen Calleen Roblson scheduled to participate, the lead off event will be a parade at Duchesne, the morning of September 12 at 10 a. m. J Following the parade a county program will be held in the Duchesne Du-chesne city park where David O. McKay, first counselor in the presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, will address the group. Field sports, including a baseball base-ball game and a rodeo will provide pro-vide the afternoon entertainment entertain-ment with the evening being set aside for a program and free dance at the Duchesne High schoql, September 13 will be exhibit day with 4-H Club demonstrations demonstra-tions and a style revue taking place at 11 a. m. The second day of the rodeo will get underway at 2 p. m., and at 8 p. m, the Duchesne County Centennial concert will be the center of attraction. at-traction. A free dance and floor show, following the concert, will write finish to the Centennial year fair. Fair officials are insistent that prospective exhibitors make their entries immediately. Deadline Dead-line for the entering of exhibits has been set at 10 a. m., Friday, September 12. Prizes will be awarded according to the grading grad-ing system generally adopted by county fairs, and all exhibits must have been made or grown during 1947. |
