' Mrs. Zella Goodrich was operated op-erated on at the Roosevelt hospital hos-pital on Friday for appendicitis. At the present time she is getting get-ting along nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Rulen Goodrich announce the arrival of a baby boy born Friday, and Mr. and Mrs. Oran Bird announce the arrival ar-rival of a baby girl born Thursday. Thurs-day. Both ladies are at the Roosevelt Roos-evelt hospital and. getting along nicely. Mrs. Virginia Winkler and family returned to their home at the Gilsonite mine on Sunday after spending the week here with relatives. On Saturday Mrs. Winkler and family were honored honor-ed at a delicious chicken dinner at the home, of Mr. and Mrs. Hosea Lisonbee. The occasion being be-ing Mrs. Winkler's birthday. Mrs. Clarence Asten and daughter, Delone, and Ervin Durfee, all of Payette, Idaho, and Mrs. C. Smith of Duchesne, visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. C. Frank Smith. On Friday afternoon the Primary Pri-mary ward officers under the direction di-rection of President Cleona Remington, met at the ward hall and worked on the clothing and afgans they are preparing to send to the needy in Europe. On Monday, August 19, at the ward hall, the entire Primary will exhibit ex-hibit their summer's work on clothing to send overseas. They urge everyone to come. Dolores Goodrich and Morris Monson, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Richman and Ed Richman enjoyed en-joyed a chicken supper on Tuesday Tues-day over on the river. The Rich-mans Rich-mans returned to their home in Provo on Wednesday after a few days visit here with relatives. rela-tives. Mrs. Nina Goodrich took Mr. and Mrs. Rulen Goodrich's daughter, Billie Faith, to Salt Lake City last week to consult a bone specialist. Billie Faith broke her leg sometime ago and it hasn't healed properly. It is thought she may need an operation. opera-tion. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith and three children, of Helper, are visiting Mrs. Smith's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie B. Goodrich. Good-rich. On Sunday the Goodrichs had as guests at their home, Mr. j and Mrs. Garnet Birtchell and children, of Roosevelt, Mrs. i Thelma Robinson, of Ioka, and Mrs. Velva Owen, of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Dobson, of McGill, Nevada, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Levison Hancock a few days during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Anderson, of Magna, visited this week with Ivan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson. Ray Gagon, of Salt Lake City, brought his wife and family here I on Saturday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levison Hancock. Mr. Gagon returned home Sunday. Sun-day. Lloyd Goodrich and Gladys Stevenson were married on Saturday Sat-urday at Vernal. Lloyd has spent four years in the army serving in the South Pacific. Gladys has been working the past four years in Price. The young couple will make their home at the Gilsonite Gilson-ite mines. Their many friends join in wishing them a long and happy married life. Mrs. Vola Hancock and two children went to Salt Lake City last week to have some dental work done. Albert Hancock left Monday to bring his family home. Everett Goodrich arrived home last week after spending the past two years in the Hawaiian Hawai-ian Islands in service. He has received re-ceived his discharge. Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Hamilton and three children, of Tooele, visited Mr. and Mrs. Earl Murray Mur-ray on Sunday. |
