Show July Employment Figures Show Normal Condition Employment figures for this season of the year are about normal, nor-mal, announces V. J. McClellan, manager of the Roosevelt office of the United States employ-ment employ-ment service, "In three types of work, namely name-ly timber, mining and experienced experien-ced house painters, there is an actual shortage of applicants," declared Mr. McClellan. "With grain cutting and teshing nearing its peak, the fcnploy-ment fcnploy-ment of farm hands Ls fairly well established, but in all probability prob-ability a major lay-off in farm work will take place within a month or two," the employment service manager continued. According to the employment ; service report, the lack of building build-ing materials is responsible for maintaining a fairly constant level In the employment of construction con-struction workers. Current unemployment is listed list-ed at approximately 250 for the Roosevelt area of which 185 are veterans of World War II. The immigration of workers Is estimated esti-mated at about 40 a month. |
