Slaughter steers were scarce; two loads of Canadian cows were unsold on the local market; grass slaughter heifers, cows and bulls ruled about steady although some fed heifers looked fully 50c lower compared with closing sales this class last week. A package of good 725 lb. fed heifers made $29.50; medium med-ium grass heifers made $24 $26; common, $19.50 $23; common and medium grass cows scored $17.75 C $19; cutter offerings off-erings made $16 $17.50; can-ners, can-ners, $13 (! $15 with shells down to $12 or below; good heavy beef bulls made $23 $24; good sausage bulls, $22 $24; medium kinds, $18 5 S21; good vealers scored $24.50 S27.50; choice kinds salable to $29.75; one load of choice 1046 lb fleshy feeders secured $27.75; one load scaling 956 lbs made $26.50; several small lots of lighter kinds, $25 Tv $26; good offerings, $23 i $25.50; medium $19.50 $22.50.
