Show Utah Water Users To Meet September 19 The first annual meeting of the Utah Water Users Association Associa-tion is to be held Tuesday, September Sep-tember 19, 1944, at ten o'clock a. m., in the Governor's Board Room, State Capitol Building, Salt Lake City, Utah. Preliminary to this meeting the six districts into which the state has been divided for election elec-tion purposes arc to held meetings meet-ings within said district for the purpose of electing eleven directors di-rectors of said Association. The six districts are composed of the counties, water association and individuals of the state. The eleven el-even directors thus elected in turn elect four directors at large. The fifteen directors thus elected elect-ed constitute the Board of Directors Di-rectors who, in addition to managing man-aging the affairs of the Association, Associa-tion, appoint the officers and executive ex-ecutive committee for the ensuing, en-suing, year. All persons interested in the Utah Water Users Association and the development, improvement improve-ment and protection of water rights in this state desiring to take part in this Association should contact their county commissioners com-missioners for information as to the holding of the meeting in their district for the election of directors. General information as to the Association can be obtained ob-tained from Mr. Gus P. Back-man, Back-man, maager, or A. W. Watson, secretary, at the Salt Lake Chamber of - Commerce. FIRST BABY OF SERVICEMAN BORN IN NEW HOSPITAL Across the sea to Cpl. Paul B. Lemon went the message announcing an-nouncing the arrival of a daughter daugh-ter on September 9th. Mrs. Lemon Lem-on is the former Mary Lloyd, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. James Lloyd of Roosevelt. Corporal James B, Lemon is the son of: Mr, and Mrs. James B. Lemon of Ioka and has been serving in England with a hospital unit since February, 1944, This is the first baby of a serviceman to be born in the new hospital in Roosevelt. PROCLAIMS ELECTION DATE Gov. Herbert B. Maw issued a routine proclamation Wednesday Wednes-day declaring November 7 date of a general election in Utah. The document also listed all offices of-fices to be filled throughout the stale. Mrs. Fred Fairbarin of Alberta, Alber-ta, Canada, arrived in Roosevelt Tuesday to visit with her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Tom Halen and brother, Axel Birch. Mrs. Fairbarin took the plane as far as Salt Lake City. ' |
